He had previously been an important supporter of Caesar in the Gallic Wars and in the civil war against Pompey. Brutus was killed during the civil war following the death of Julius Caesar. Decimus Junius Brutus Albinus is not to be confused with his distant cousin and fellow Julius Caesar assassin, Marcus Junius Brutus, though he often is.
  • Pan is the god of the wild, shepherds and flocks, rustic music and companion of the nymphs.
