- Struck between 32 to 31 BC for Marc Antony during the war following the assassination of Julius Caesar to honor Roman Legions.
- The legionary coinage of Marc Antony was likely produced at his winter headquarters at Patrae. Twenty-three legions were honored: LEG PRI to LEG XXIII.
- Legio XV Apollinaris ("Apollo's Fifteenth Legion") was recruited by Octavian in 41/40 BC. The emblem of this legion was probably a picture of Apollo, or of one of his holy animals.
- Obverse: war galley rowing right, mast with banners at prow, ANT AVG III VIR R P C.
- Reverse: legionary eagle between two standards, LEG XV.
