  • Superb reverse detail of nude Hercules, note bearded face, bow and lion skin showing detailed head. Hercules and Bacchus were the Gods of Severus' native place, Leptis Magna (present day Libya). 
  • Obverse: L SEPT SEV PERT AVG IMP VIIII, laureate bust of emperor facing right.
  • Reverse: HERCVLI DEFENS, Hercules standing right resting on club and holding bow and lion skin on left arm.
