  • Dated (TR P XXIX IMP VII) denarius minted from Dec 174 to Autumn 175 CE.
  • Superb bearded portrait of the Emperor and sharply detailed presentation of Victory (exceptional detail of face, bodice and wings).
  • Well struck with nice lustrous surfaces and centered flan.
  • Certified by NGC to Ch XF.
  • Obverse: M ANTONINVS AVG GERM TR P XXIX, mature laureate bust right with full beard.  
  • Reverse: IMP VII COS III, Victory seated left holding patera and palm.
  • Victory was the personification of military triumph by the Roman Legions. 
  • This reverse may allude to the defeat of the Quadi, which occurred during this time period.
