- Extremely Fine Roman Empire silver denarius coin.
- Struck for Emperor Lucius Verus at the Rome Mint.
- Appox. 19mm, RIC 576, RSC 297.
- Dated TR P VII IMP IIII = Dec 166 to Dec 167 CE.
- Excellent laureate head portrait.
- Well struck with great surfaces and centered flan.
- Certified by NGC to XF with no problems.
- Obverse: L VERVS AVG ARM PARTH MAX, laureate head facing right.
- Reverse: TR P VII IMP IIII COS III, Aequitas standing left holding scales and cornucopia.
- Aequitas is the personification of equity or fairness. She is most often depicted holding a pair of scales to represent fair dealings and equality.
- A likely reference to the relationship of Lucius Verus with co-Emperor Marcus Aurelius. See RIC 171 for Marcus Aurelius Aequitas reverse denarius struck with the same date (Dec 166 to Dec 167 CE).
