- Obverse: bust of Charles facing left, mark of value XII behind head, mint mark above: CAROLVS D G MA BR FR ET HI REX (Charles by the grace of god king Great Britain, France and Ireland).
- Reverse: arms of Great Britain, France and Ireland within oval garnished shield: CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO (I rule under the auspices of Christ, relates to the divine right of kings).
