Almost Uncirculated Tudor England Great Britain King Henry VIII hammered sterling silver groat or 4 pence coin.
Spink S-2337E, approx 25mm, near perfect medal alignment (rare as such for hammered coins).
Struck between 1526 to 1544 at the London Tower Mint (Lis mint mark, located 12:30 obverse and reverse).
Well struck & centered with superb portrait.
Dark toned with underlying luster.
Obverse: Youthful renaissance-style bust wearing ornate crown, HENRIC D G R AGL Z FRANC (Henry by the Grace of God King of England and France).
Reverse: Coat-of-arms over long cross fourchee. POSVI DEV ADIVTOREM MEV (I have made God my helper).
Certified by PCGS to AU 53, Population Census: 5 coins, only 3 higher.
