  • Sear 1868, struck during the short reign of Michael VII from 1071 to 1078.
  • Obverse: Bust of Christ facing wearing nimbus, raising right hand in benediction, in left hand book of Gospels, flanked by letters IC and XC.
  • Reverse: Michael bust facing, bearded wearing crown and loros and holding labarum with pellet on shaft and orb.
  • Certified by NGC to AU, Strike: 4/5, Surface 4/5.
  • Well struck with detailed busts of Christ and Michael, very attractive in hand.
  • The obverse is on the convex side, subject to more wear and contacts, this coin had an exceptional high grade bust of Christ.
