Reverse: DAC CAP (in ex.) COS V P P S P Q R OPTIMO PRINC, Dacian seated left mourning upon pile of arms (shields, spears).
Trophy of arms comes from the ancient Roman tropaeum, military victories which were commemorated with a display of actual captured arms, armour and standards.
