Struck for Emperor Titus (79-81 CE) at the Rome Mint.
Dated via titles: TR P IX IMP XV COS VIII = January to 1 July 80 CE.
RIC 24a; RSC 313, approx 19mm.
One of the 12 Caesars (eldest son of Emperor Vespasian & older brother of Emperor Domitian) with a short reign as Emperor from 79 to 81 CE.
Significant historic events of Titus' reign were the dedication of the Coliseum, the eruption of Vesuvius and the destruction of Pompeii.
Well struck and centered with realistic portrait.
