  • Dated: TR P XXX IMP VIII = Dec 175 to Dec 176 CE.

  • Mature fully bearded portrait.

  • Obverse: M ANTONINVS AVG GERM SARM, laureate head right.  
  • Reverse: PAX AVG in ex. TR P XXX IMP VIII COS III P PPax standing left holding cornucopia and setting fire to spoils of war.
  • Pax was the goddess and personification of peace. Apparently a commemorative type to celebrate peace after the hard fought victories over the Germans and Sarmatians. DE GERM and DE SARM types also minted during this date period.
